Bookings & availability
Are there advantages to booking directly on the website?
Yes. Booking directly gets you the best available price and direct support from our team.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking early, especially in high season, at weekends and on special dates. The houses sell out quickly for groups and families.
How can I check availability?

We reply quickly with the available dates and houses.
Can I book more than one house at the same time?
Yes, just tell us your dates and the houses you would like. We can send you a combined quote.
Are bookings always for the whole house?
Yes. Each house is booked in full, regardless of how many guests will use it.
Houses & capacity
Are the houses private or shared?
All houses are completely private to the booking group and stand within a fenced estate of 2 hectares.
Do the houses include bed linen and towels?
Yes, all include bed linen, towels and the essentials for your stay.
Is the kitchen equipped?
Yes. Each house has a kitchen equipped with the basic utensils for preparing meals.
Do all houses have a barbecue?
Yes, each house has a barbecue and private outdoor furniture.
Are water and electricity included?
Yes, all essential utilities are included in the price of the stay.
Can I have visitors during my stay?
Outside visitors must be authorised in advance. The quinta is private and access is controlled.
Can I exceed the maximum capacity of the house?
No. Each house's maximum capacity is fixed and cannot be exceeded, for safety reasons.
Can I request an extra bed?
In some cases it is possible, depending on the house and availability. Please check with us.
Do the houses have heating?
Yes, all have heating for stays in the colder season.
Can I request a cot or a baby chair?
Yes, subject to availability and a symbolic fee of €10 per cot per stay. High chairs are free.
Check-in & check-out
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: between 4 pm and 7 pm.
Check-out: by 10 am.
Can I ask for early check-in or late check-out?
It depends on availability. Please check with us before you arrive.
How does key handover work?
You will receive instructions a few days before arrival. Our team will give you access to the quinta's gate and to your house.
Is cleaning included?
Yes, cleaning before arrival is included. If you prefer, you can add check-out cleaning for €50 per house (under normal conditions). Extra cleaning during your stay can be requested as an additional service.
Pets
Can I bring my dog or cat?
Yes, dogs and cats are welcome, subject to basic rules of care: hygiene, respect for the outdoor areas, always on a lead, etc.
Is there a fee for pets?
Yes. There is a one-off fee of €20 per pet per stay.
What are the rules for dogs on the estate?
They must always be supervised, may not sleep on the furniture, and owners must keep the spaces clean and treat them with respect.
Estate rules
Is the estate completely private?
Yes. The quinta is fenced, with access only for guests and authorised gatherings.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, there is free parking on the estate.
Are barbecues allowed?
Yes, unless the Portuguese authorities advise otherwise.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes. From 10 pm, we ask you to respect the rest of other guests.
Can I bring a caravan or motorhome?
Yes, only during the stay of the group that booked the house(s). The fee is €25 per day per caravan or motorhome.
Are there dedicated spaces for motorhomes?
Yes. On arrival day we show you where to park, to make manoeuvring easier and keep everyone safe.
Does the quinta have an electric car charging point?
Not yet. Charging from the houses' sockets is not allowed.
Are there charging points nearby?
Yes, there are charging points around Amares and Braga. We can point you to the nearest ones.
Can people come in to deliver food or parcels?
Yes, as long as you let us know in advance so we can authorise access.
Can we bring music speakers?
Yes, at a moderate volume and inside the house or private patio. Loud music outdoors is not allowed.
Private gatherings
Can I organise a gathering at Quinta dos Ferrage?
Yes, we welcome private and company gatherings on request.
Are gatherings private or open to the public?
They are always private. No gatherings open to the public take place.
Does the quinta provide catering or drinks?
Not directly, but you can hire authorised external suppliers.
Can I bring external partners?
Yes, as long as they are approved in advance by the management.
Are there rules or limits for gatherings?
Yes. Gatherings must respect the agreed times, safety and the estate's rules.
Can I order a cake, birthday decorations or other details?
Yes, through authorised external partners. We are happy to help organise it.

Where is Quinta dos Ferrage?
Rua dos Ferrage, n.º 1, 4720-390 Ferreiros, Amares, district of Braga (North region), Portugal.
Are there supermarkets or restaurants nearby?
Yes, supermarkets, cafés and local restaurants are just a few minutes away.
Is there a fire risk in the hot season?
Yes, as in any rural area. That is why barbecues must never be left unattended and fires may only be lit in the designated areas.
